Through many ups and downs. Wallingford Galleries — known to many long-time customers as Rugs of the World — faced displacement when our Wallingford building was purchased by developers. With no choice but to leave our longtime home, we focused on moving forward with a new Fremont store, but out of these challenges comes an exciting new beginning. The developers who purchased our Wallingford building have postponed their project for three more years — giving us precious time to remain in the neighborhood we’ve called home. At the same time, we are proud to share that Gallery 45, a long-time partner from Oregon, has stepped in to bring new energy, products, and management. With their support, our Wallingford location will not only stay open, but grow stronger than ever — continuing to serve Seattle with the world’s finest handwoven rugs for at least the next three years. This partnership means more than just survival: it’s a fresh start. Expect new collections, new stories, and more reasons to fall in love with rugs all over again.
